Golden Acre Park

Today we went to Golden Acre Park. We have lived in Leeds for nearly eight years and never been here. It is a really nice place with a big variety of walks and trails. We started off at the car park near Eccup and wandered down through the themed gardens to the lake at the bottom. There is a whole section full of Rhododendrons which I assume will look amazing when in flower.
Bruno loved it here as there were hundreds of other dogs to play with.

Brimham Rocks

Today we went for a walk around the Brimham rocks. Here you can see weird rock formations caused by erosion during and after the Devensian glaciation. This is a great place to take dogs as there are loads of paths for them to expore and sniff around.

We plan to visit again during the summer as there are some great photo opportunities.

Dunes at Merthyr Mawr

This weekend we headed down to Cardiff. On Sunday we took Bruno for a walk on the sand dunes at Merthyr Mawr. It's really cool here, some of the dunes are huge! There were lots of kids sledging on the sand.
I didn't have a camera but managed to get a great picture of bruno on the phone camera.

We also came across hundreds of sea-buckthorn bushes. These were featured on Ray Mears' show last week and the fruit boast more vitamin C than your average orange. Naturally we picked a few and tried them. They were a bit sharp, but we all agreed they tasted like orange sherbert. Mmmm
